Abstract

The present research which was carried out through a survey aims to examine the impact of mass media on women's feeling of insecurity in terms of finance, security, ideology and legal issues as well as their feeling of being victimized. The subjects were females from Isfahan University of which some 370 girls were selected through stratified random sampling. The statistical methodology used in the research included multiple-variable regression and path analysis. AMOS methodology was used to calculate the path coefficient.
The findings show that women's feeling insecure is directly related to their feeling of being victimized. There was also a negative correlation between the level of exposing to mass media (TV and magazines) and women's feeling insecure. In other words, the more women are exposed to the media, the less their feeling of insecurity becomes. The level of education was also related to the parents' insecurity feeling.
