Memory Arousal of Cognitive and Emotional Elements of News in Students of Tehran Universities

Abstract
The aim of this experimental study was to compare the level of memory arousal of cognitive and emotional elements of news in students of Tehran universities. The statistical population was all male and female students in M.A. And B.A. Of universities in Tehran, from which 60 people were first selected in clusters and then purposefully. Data were collected using a questionnaire including demographic information, radio news follow-up, reminder test and news snippets. Data analysis through mixed analysis of variance test showed that the main effect of gender, follow-up and network on cognitive element memory and emotional element memory was significant. According to the results, girls pay more attention to and remember emotional elements than boys. In contrast, boys are more likely to remember the cognitive elements of the news. Channel 2 news also has more emotional elements and the girls  follows it more, while the news channel news is more cognitive in terms of elements and more attractive for the boys. In order to influence the audience, it is better for IRIB to pay more attention to this type of effects and to use the components that affect each genre correctly.
