Identifying the Factors Influencing the Arrangement of the Broadcasting News Schedule in IRIB

Abstract
While there is an intense news competition, arranging news broadcasting schedule is one of the effective factors to improve the quality of radio and television news programs. Since radio and television (IRIB) has various news programs, it needs pathology and improvement of the news broadcast schedule in order to increase the quality of these news programs and increase it’s audiences. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the arrangement of IRIB news programs from the perspective of news editors. This research identified the factors influencing the news broadcast schedule of IRIB through semi-standard interviews with the editors of various news sections using the theme analysis method. After interviewing 6 radio and television news editors who were selected by purposive sampling, theoretical saturation was achieved and a total of 6 comprehensive themes and 20 sub-themes or organizing themes were obtained as influential factors. The findings showed that the influencing factores are: Qualification in arrangement of news broadcast schedule, competencies of the editors, khnowing the audience and cyberspace, the characteristics of the news section and the message management elements. Another major factor driving the news broadcast schedule to fame-oriented is external influencing factors. So, it seems nessesory to have format and content diversity, using creative human resource, the improvement of organizational structure and the increasing independence of news editing based on organizational policies and national interests inorder to improve news broadcast arrangement.
