A Study on the Role of Television in Managing Flood Crisis on the Spring 2019 in Iran

Abstract
This research conducted to analyze the role of television in manaing flood crisis on the spring of 2019, using qualitative content analysis method and thematic analysis technique. The study population was all the broadcasted news from the IRNN channel and the evening news at 9 pm on the TV channel One about the spring flood of 2019, and the samples were selected through purposive technique. A total of 20 Basic themes, 9 organizing themes were extracted following three themes: before, during, and after crisis. Before crisis stage: three roles of awareness and warning, surveillance, safe training; during crisis stage: three roles of Informing, accompanying, information keeper, and after crisis stage: three roles of analysis, responsiveness, relaxing were identified. television has analyzed broadcasted news by quantitative and qualitative approaches With regard to natural law. The media strategy used in the face of crisis was active strategy and the laying out and follow-up of issues and problems was done with a critical approach. It was tried to increase the accuracy and truth in news broadcasting through information gatekeeping and along with the professional model in the field of news content and comprehensiveness, the media was oriented to the organizational model.
