National Media and the Development of Intercultural Communication: A Study of the Components Affecting Media Synergy

Abstract
Blouring boundaries due to development of media, while facilitating intercultural communication, has also highlighted the position of media. So, in this era examining the role of national media is very important. The main question of this article is what model can be provided for media synergy for developing intercultural communication? theoretical and experimental literature were studied and in-depth interviews with experts were conducted using the delphi technique. The statistical population included media and intercultural communication experts, from whom 30 people with the desired characteristics were selected for the interview. The results showed that redefining the concept of ethnicity, ethnic convergence, increasing social capital and cultural capital, as well as the concept of national identity, increasing cultural and ethnic empathy, providing cultural commonalities and not representing intercultural conflicts, were the most important functions of national media in developing intercultural communication in the experts’ point of view. Finally it was provided some suggestions to national media Based on these findings.
