Representation of Piety in Tv Series (Case: Madaraneh)

Abstract
The article conducted to study the piety represented in television, in the case of the Madaraneh series. The series was broadcasted on TV channel 3 of IRIB during Ramadan in 2013. It attracted the most viewers and satisfaction and represented the religiosity  in a special way. This study is based on the theory of representation, according to which the media do not convey but create meaning and construct the world through representation. The research method was semiotics. The religious symbols in this series have been extracted and the findings have been studied and analyzed. The results showed that In this series, a kind of mystical (intuitive) religiosity with disciple and desired (Moridi and Moradi) themes is represented, along with a moral approach and a relationship with a moralistic cleric, as the preferred religiosity. There were a relashionship between The two types of moral and ritual (obligation-oriented) religiosity with the main focus of intuitive piety.
