Evaluation of Content Production Outsourcing for IRIB TV

Abstract
Outsourcing is one of the strategies to producte TV programs of which Improper implementation can be associated with many downsides. Noeadays, when IRIB Television needs extensive outsourcing of its productions, it should be evaluate to revise the implementation of this strategy in case of a discrepancy between the results obtained and the expected benefits, by identifying the challenges and downsides. The aim of this research is to evaluate the current situation of the outsourcing of television productions of IRIB and to identify the drawbacks of implementing this strategy. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach and using thematic analysis method. The statistical population included 20 senior and middle managers of television, internal and independent producers, and the data collected with semi-structured interview method and thematic analysis method was used to analyze them. After analyzing the results, five comprehensive dimensions were obtained: "Unprofessional selection of the producer", "improper system of programming estimation", "weak internal management of outsourcing" and "improper supervision of the outsourcing process" are known among the downsides of the implementation of the outsourcing of TV productions. The results showed that the outsourcing strategy in television is being implemented without a mechanism or a specific instruction.
