A Study on Social Challenges Caused by Excessive Use of Virtual Social Networks (Case: Second High School Students of POLDOKHTAR City)

Abstract
Excessive use of virtual social networks has led to addiction and harms among some users. This article was conducted with the aim of identifying the social challenges of excessive use of virtual social networks among secondary school students in POLDAKHTAR city. This research was carried out with a qualitative approach, and the selection of samples was carried out in a purposeful way and up to the point of saturation, due to its exploratory nature, with the number of 19 people. selected samples were interviewed by a semi-structured questions. The collected data were thematically coded and analyzed. After coding and data analysis, 168 open codes, 9 themes of sector cohesion, and 47 sub-themes were extracted. The findings of the research showed that the social challenges of extreme use of virtual social networks among students are: moving away from social roles; reduction of family-relative interactions; neglecting education; marriage crisis; generation and normative gap; the stigma of abandonment; Skeptical self-concept; Dual social identity and the emergence of high-risk sexual behaviors. The results of the research showed that it is necessary to create suitable platforms for family partnership and strengthen the position of reference groups (parents, school, trusted relatives), to provide the conditions for the reintegration of teenagers in order to reduce their dependence while using these networks properly.
